1st Floor Bath Tile

I had this idea of making the 1st floor bath vanity out of a wine barrel.  I bought one from a Napa Valley vineyard

Before

Needed to sand, cut out access holes, re-enforce & refinish bands

After sanding it fumed it with ammonia like Gustav Stickley did in the early 1900's to highlight the quartersawn oak rays, notice the much lighter "Rays" this can only be done by exposing the bare wood to heavy ammonia fumes.  The wood is darkened naturally by the ammonia and then just sealed with shellac.
